About Circle 8 Outfitters

Joe & Lisa Haas operated this privately owned mulit-generational family business and have been taking hunters, fishermen, and explorers into the most amazing and remote back country of Montana for decades. The original permits for this country were established in the 1920’s by Kenneth Gleason under the Circle 8 horse brand. In 1979 Allen & Sally Haas (Joe’s parents) purchased the backcountry operation and rebranded it to A Lazy H Outfitters. Joe & Lisa rebranded it to the original business name from the ’20s, Circle 8 Outfittters. We were established in this area long before it became the now-famous Bob Marshall Wilderness, and are priviledged to take our friends and guests into this amazing country year after year in the pursuite of elk, mule deer, big horn sheep, wild river trout, and overall adventure. We operate and permits for the Flathead National Forest, Lewis and Clark National Forest, and Bureau of Land Management (all public lands) in vast multip-million acre tracts of land in northwestern Montana.

We have several back country wilderness camps where we base our operations for spectacular fly fishing and big game hunting. These camps are special use locations strategically located in the Bob Marshall from the Sun River to the Middle Fork of the Flathead to the Two Medicine River. We use a combination of public and private trailhead facilities from the Dearborn River south of the Bob Marshal to the Glacier Park boundary in the north. Our special use permits are with the US Forest Service and the State of Montana, outfitter permit #558.
